Welcome to SERENATA... Britain's first classical festival was a rip-roaring success! Don't miss Serenata 2011!
Thousands flocked to Dorset's stunning Jurassic Coast on August 26, 27 & 28, enjoying inspiring, yet accessible classical music; boutique camping; gourmet food; fine wine and plenty of arts and culture. READ SOME OF THEIR COMMENTS HERE!
The weather didn't get off to a great start, but in true Great British tradition the wellies and waterproofs were donned and spirits were not dampened! The weather then brightened up and the sun shone on Kimmeridge as the festival continued on Friday and Saturday. Russell Watson, Katherine Jenkins, Faryl Smith, Geoff Sewell and Blake were among the incredible voices which entertained audiences over the three day event.
Emma Johnson, Ruth Palmer and Benjamin Grosvenor provided fantastic clarinet, violin and piano instrumentals, perfectly accompanying the impressive Kimmeridge scenery.
Other, more diverse artists also wowed the crowd at Serenata 2010, such as the brilliant Austrian strings trio Netnakisum and the unique human beat-box styling's of Shlomo and the Vocal Orchestra. All tastes were covered at Serenata!
The festival also proved very popular with families - as promised, the children were never bored with the jam-packed schedule of cultural, yet fun, events featuring music, art and theatre.
